One thousand GravityLights have been manufactured to be distributed to villagers in Africa and India, where they will undergo a trial run, after which any necessary improvements will be made. When mass-produced, the GravityLight is expected to cost roughly five US dollars per unit to manufacture. As fuel is not needed to power the GravityLight, this frees up more money for families and communities. This could potentially allow these communities to invest in solar power technology in the future. Batteries would, however, be needed to store energy captured from solar technology, which can be costly as the batteries will need to be replaced every few years. The company is currently pursuing donations for the development and mass production of the led flood light through the crowd funding site Indiegogo. Individuals and corporations are able to donate money and there are opportunities for investing.
After distribution in Africa and India, follow-up research allow for a refining of the product’s design to help boost the GravityLight’s efficiency.Troy Lighting, well-known for creating “sophisticated casual” designs for residential and commercial environments, is proud to announce the launch of its winter 2013 outdoor collections. The new designs debuted at the Dallas International Lighting Market on January 17-21, 2013. The pieces stay true to Troy Lighting’s classic and transitional design roots while also building upon the company’s collection of contemporary and decorative LED fixtures.Among Troy Lighting’s 2013 outdoor introductions are four new classic designs. Ambassador is a stately fixture well suited for grand homes and manors as well as prominent public and business buildings. Little Harbor draws inspiration from busy seafaring communities of the past. The globe shaped Mendocino fixture adds a hint of Spanish style to outdoor spaces. And it’s not hard to visualize Nantucket illuminating the environs of its coastal island namesake.
Four LED introductions include: Dwell, a contemporary fixture that features LED lighting and rustic touches; Ginza, a solid aluminum fixture that features simple Zen-inspired lines and a warm silver and forged bronze finish; Hive, a contemporary outdoor fixture that features aluminum metal work, opal white glassware and bronze, matte black, satin white or coastal finish; and Utopia, a contemporary outdoor fixture that blends a decorative clear glass rod with satin aluminum accents and either a bronze or matte black finish for the foundation. These LED products manufactured by led high bay light will be installed in retail stores, office complexes, warehouses and storage facilities within the first quarter of 2013. And Revolution Lighting Technologies expects to receive a second order totaling $5 million immediately thereafter.According to Ken Ames, Director of Sales for Seesmart, “We are anticipating tremendous growth in 2013 as the millions of dollars of quotes in our pipeline begin to convert to sales. We have worked diligently in creating a solid network of 50 exclusive distributors and 300 representatives to educate the end-user about LED technology and its benefits.
