LED products continue to usher in a new era of sustainable lighting

The Philips A-19 LED bulb is just the latest addition to the Philips portfolio to benefit from AirFlux technology, which includes a 40-watt LED equivalent, BR 30, B40, PAR 30, PAR 38 and the recently launched Philips hue, the world’s smartest light bulb. Philips is at the forefront of LED lighting technology and the AirFlux family of products joins an industry-leading portfolio which includes the revolutionary L Prize bulb, which was recognized by the US Department of Energy for its innovation. From floodlights to spotlights to decorative candles, Philips offers a broad range of LED lamps designed with the latest and most advanced LED high bay light technology available on the market. Offering superior light quality and supporting some of the most popular fixture types, Philips LED products continue to usher in a new era of sustainable lighting.

Instrument Systems was founded in 1986 by its president, Richard Distl, and is based in Munich, Germany. The company supplies a comprehensive range of light measuring products for industrial and research applications. Key applications are LED and display measurement, as well as spectroradiometry and photometry. The subsidiary company Optronik Berlin GmbH is also included in the sale.

The Munich company will expand Konica Minolta’s sensing division, and the Instrument Systems brand will be retained. Richard Distl will continue as president and CEO.

“The company was established 26 years ago and it has undergone enormous growth since then,” said Distl. “The time had come to chart a strategic roadmap for the sustainable further development of the company. Konica Minolta is the right partner and offers outstanding framework conditions for development.”
