As the sapphire market became stronger, Taiwan quartz components maker TXC planed to develop sapphire and other crystalline products. It is reported that the company will establish crystal growth capacity and start production in February 2011.
Also, wafer slicing and sapphire substrate manufacturing is in the new crystal growth processing operations. TXC planned to invest total NT$300 million (US$9.7 million) initially, with focus on 4- and 6-inch sapphire substrates development.
TXC planned to order 10 crystal-growing furnaces, and achieve a total about 100 units in a year. At the end of 2010, the company will start move-in facility.
German LED maker LayTec has ranked among the national 50 fastest growing technology companies for the second time at the Deloitte's Technology Fast 50 award ceremony in Berlin on October 20, 2010.
